Built in 1929 as a grand summerhouse for General Timmerman by architect Vaerwyck, inspired by the famous English architect Lutyens.

Het Zonnehuis has been completely restored and redecorated by
Bertrand Depry and Jan Vermast.

The house is now an exclusive Bed & Breakfast and regained its former grandeur. Het Zonnehuis has 4 luxury rooms, a Junior suite and a holiday house for 4 persons.

The large breakfast has also a British touch: English marmalades, English cheese, smoked salmon, eggs are made à la minute, Brussels waffles, fresh juice, yoghurt, granola and fresh fruit salad. Bread is coming from the bakery in the village. Breakfast is served between 8.30 and 11 a.m. at the big table, the small table or at the heated terrace.

Das Hotel Montana, ein Gebäude im Landhausstil, liegt nur 70 m vom Strand entfernt. In ruhiger Lage in einem Wohngebiet und nicht weit vom Ortszentrum entfernt bietet sich das Haus für einen angenehmen Aufenthalt an.

Am Morgen stärken Sie sich mit einem reichhaltigen Frühstück. Tagsüber können Sie auf der Terrasse im Freien sitzen und die Sonne genießen. Die Pianobar erwartet Sie mit entspannenden Klängen. Im Hotel besteht die Möglichkeit, jederzeit etwas zu essen oder zu trinken, auch wenn das Hotel über keine Bar verfügt.

Abends unternehmen Sie einen kurzen Spaziergang zum Restaurant des Hotels. Dort werden verschiedene köstliche Gerichte angeboten. Kinder sind im Restaurant gern gesehene Gäste und wählen aus der eigenen Speisekarte.

Tagsüber können Sie die historischen Kirchen und charakteristischen Straßen in der Umgebung erkunden. Begeben Sie sich auf eine Wanderung durch das wunderschöne Naturschutzgebiet De Westhoek oder entdecken Sie mit dem Fahrrad den Wald von Calmeynbos.

Situated in the very heart of the “Bel Epoque” District of Ostend, our city by the sea, the “Villa Les Pâquerettes” lies in walking distance of the beach of course, but equally on merely a few hundred yards away from the Wellington racetrack, the Casino, the golf course, the swimming pool, the library, the KVO Versluys soccer stadium and the BCO basketball stadium. The posh boutiques and gastronomical highlights are only a few minutes away and the costal tram offers you a stop at a two hundred yards distance.

The “Bel Epoque” district was realized under the reign of our King Leopold II. Our residence was built in 1902 but has been recently totally and utterly renovated. The surrounding public domain has been restored to his former splendor in respect with the spirit and the style of the “fin de siècle”.

First and foremost, our guest house wants to be convivial, welcoming and comfortable. We wholeheartedly and cordially welcome our guests with an open mind, in a warm and hospitable fashion. We keep an open house by the sea side where eager spirits and out of the box  thoughts are welcome to collide under the Chatham House rules.

Ostend, at the creation of our district called the “Queen of the Seaside Cities” with her landmarks as the Thermae Palace, the Venetian Galleries, the Casino, sparkles again through an impressive number of events such as the Theatre by the Sea, the Film festival, the weekly horse derby, and so on, and so forth.

Our bed and breakfast is a strictly no smoking hostel. However, the garden offers the possibility for the tobacco amateur to enjoy his guilty pleasure.
