B&B Stoega

The place where B&B Stoega is located is on the quay of the Coupure, with a view of the small adjacent pleasure port. This was dug between 1751 and 1753, as a part of the canal that connects Ghent, Bruges and Ostend. In the not so distant past there was more activity here: then salt, coal and herring were unloaded from barges with names such as "Jamais Pensé" on these quays. Occasionally a group of swans pass by on the quiet water in front of the door. Close to B&B Stoega is the calm oasis of the Astridpark and a few steps further are Vismarkt, Burg and Markt.
