The place where B&B Stoega is located is on the quay of the Coupure, with a view of the small adjacent pleasure port. This was dug between 1751 and 1753, as a part of the canal that connects Ghent, Bruges and Ostend.
In the not so distant past there was more activity here: then salt, coal and herring were unloaded from barges with names such as "Jamais Pensé" on these quays.
Occasionally a group of swans pass by on the quiet water in front of the door. Close to B&B Stoega is the calm oasis of the Astridpark and a few steps further are Vismarkt, Burg and Markt.

The Oesterhoeve is both a B&B as an oyster farm at the edge of Oostende, overlooking the Spuikom lake. It offers marina-themed rooms with flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi and luxury bedding.

The rooms have parquet floors and a bathroom with free soap and shampoo products. They are decorated with sea shells, little boats and sea stars.

Breakfast is served at a communal breakfast room with a kitchenette and a tea/coffee maker. B&B Oosterhoeve offers their specialty for dinner, a sea food platter adjoined with a nice wine.

The area is ideal for hiking and cycling. The nearest beaches are 1.5 km away. Oostende centre city is 10 minutes away by car.
